Early Childhood Programs
At Mariposas, we believe children learn best through relationship, nature, play, creativity, and meaningful experiences.
Our programs are designed to honor childhood as a unique and important season of life; one filled with wonder, exploration, belonging, and growth.
Both programs follow the same seasonal rhythm and philosophy while supporting children at different stages of development. Through stories, art, nature exploration, practical life experiences, open-ended play, and community connection, children are invited to learn in ways that honor who they are.
Mariposas Explorers
Ages 3–4
Monday & Tuesday Morning Program
Mariposas Explorers is a gentle introduction to the Mariposas community.
Designed for younger children, this program offers a nurturing environment where children can build confidence, independence, and meaningful relationships while exploring the world around them through play and discovery.
Children spend their days immersed in nature, creativity, stories, movement, sensory experiences, and seasonal learning.
Mariposas Explorers may be a wonderful fit for children who:
Are new to preschool or group care
Benefit from a gentle introduction to a learning community
Love nature, movement, and imaginative play
Are building confidence and independence
Thrive in a small, relationship-centered environment
Through a calm rhythm and caring relationships, children are given the time and space to grow at their own pace while building strong roots within the Mariposas community.
Mariposas Bilingual Nature Program
Ages 4–6
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday Morning Program
The Mariposas Bilingual Nature Program offers a deeper immersion experience for children who are ready for a consistent three-day rhythm and a strong learning community.
Spanish is woven naturally throughout the day through songs, stories, greetings, daily routines, and conversation. Children continue to explore seasonal themes through nature-based learning, creative projects, storytelling, practical life experiences, and outdoor exploration.
This program encourages children to develop confidence, independence, responsibility, and meaningful connections while remaining rooted in play, curiosity, and wonder.
The Mariposas Bilingual Nature Program may be a wonderful fit for children who:

We believe every child arrives with their own gifts, interests, ways of learning, and ways of experiencing the world. Our role is not to rush childhood, but to create spaces where children feel seen, supported, and free to grow into who they are becoming.
A Natural Pathway
Mariposas Explorers offers younger children a gentle beginning within our community. As children grow, they may have the opportunity to transition into the Mariposas Bilingual Nature Program, creating a natural pathway that honors each child's unique rhythm and development.
Enrollment
Enrollment is intentionally limited in both programs in order to preserve a small, calm, and deeply connected learning environment.
